FAQ

How do I access library resources and databases from off campus?

You'll need to use UC San Diego Virtual Private Network (VPN) to access library-licensed resources from off campus. See the instructions to set up your device. Cisco Any Connect is best as EasyConnect (web VPN) does not work with all the e-resources.
The most important setting is to make sure you chose 2-Step Secured - allthruucsd with Cisco AnyConnect.  No other setting works to access UCSD library-licensed resources.

Read the troubleshooting tips about cookies and browsers and disabling proxy; there's also a short video (see link) on connecting to the library using Cisco AnyConnect VPN.

Note: HathiTrust and O'Reilly for Higher Education (OHE) require UCSD Single SignOn, not VPN.   View  3.5 minute OHE at UCSD video.

Remote access is restricted to currently enrolled students and current employees of UC San Diego.
